The book with most eye-catching illustrations tells of a giant panda and its home in the misty mountains of southwestern China, the journey in which they mate with other bears, how they feed, teach cubs and threats to this shy and lonely animal's existence.
More interestingly, the extensive information about this pandas is placed underfold facts, for example, the panda loves to live alone, they spend about 14 hours in a day just eating, or the cubs are sometimes killed by leopards or wild dogs,etc and all the extra details under the folds also enhance the understanding of the story. This is also the perfect opportunity for the reader to pause, answer questions as well as discuss what is happening in the story.
This is also one of the main purposes of the author after reading The Giant Panda, readers may like and want to find out more about protecting the pandas in the wild.
